Rae Dunn and the 4th of July!

I Love the 4th of July!

It represents so many wonderful things!

Our freedom, our beautiful country and unity!

Seasonal Decor is a must for my tier tray. Seeing these little pops of cuteness around my home just really makes my heart so happy!

It’s the little things, right?!

Here in Utah we also celebrate pioneer day on the 24th. I love that I get to leave my decor up just a little bit longer.

I seriously love the colors that this decor brings to my home, and all that it represents!.

Rae Dunn and patriotic decor a double win! The knomes are some of my favorites!

I bought the little sign from Dollar Tree and did a makeover on it! I used Waverly chalk paint. Oh. My. Gosh! Best paint ever! Dries fast, and is thick so you don’t have any see-through!

I cut the word “freedom” in the SKINNY FONT, and cute little star web dings all from black vinyl and applied them. Super simple and Rae Dunn inspired!

I shopped my house and added wicker balls, the greenery ball, the metal stars I have had in my decor for a while. The straws are from Walmart and Dollar Tree.

The flags are from Walmart they were three to a package for $1.97. The decor in the pour jar is from a thrift store.

I love how this all came together! Happy Fourth to all of you!

Do you have a three tier tray that you decorate seasonally?

Hey guys… I wanted to share a “blast from the past” I made these last year, they were super easy and I loved how they turned out…

All right…I know the 4th is just a round the corner, but I got so excited when Wayward Girls Crafts did a step by step tutorial on how to make a pinwheel. I have seen these but never learned how to do it. When I saw how easy it was, I uh…just had to copy! I had some fun patriotic paper so my adventure began!

They have a GREAT Tutorial so click on their link above, and it will take you to it.

What you’ll need though is:
-Scrapbook Paper or other colored paper
-Glue Gun
-Brads for the middle
-Wooden skewers
-Something to put them in!

After I made the pinwheels I cut strips of the star paper I used and just wrapped them around the skewers securing each end with a dab of hot glue.

I had washed and saved an old stew can thinking I could use it for something….yes…I hot glued the matching paper onto it, printed of the word FREEDOM and tore it out and glued it on! YAY!!!

Here they are in all their cuteness!  It was a fast easy process. It took more time to arrange the pinwheels just how I wanted them then actually making them! Jeesh! I’m really liking how they turned out! So fun!

I KNOW I’ll be making more of these cuties! They just have a way of bringing a smile to your face!

Go stop by and check out how to make them…you’ll be happy you did!

Good Afternoon My Sunshine(s)…
That’s how I try to wake up P.Princess the first time…by the time she actually gets up, I’m so not nice anymore Oh, and I say Good morning instead of Afternoon…of course!
Ahem…
Ok, so I’m wondering, do you leave your seasonal decor up the entire month OR take it down right after the day is over? For me it depends on a few things…like whether there are two holidays really close together for example St. Patrick’s Day and Easter are usually pretty close so one goes up and one comes down. Or if there isn’t a holiday it might stay up a little longer.  Do you do the same thing?  Well, this month I leave the decor up until the beginning of August.   I have been working on a couple things and
I finally finished them up.
The wood block flag idea found at Brown Paper Packages
Her blog is so cute!  I Kirst-i-fied mine a little!

I used 7 inch for the “bigger” stripes, 4″ for the smaller ones and 2″ for the blue.

I used a paint chip from Home Depot, cut out a star and mod podged it onto the wood.
I used sandpaper to “scuff” up the blocks and star.   Tied a ribbon around them to hold it together…

I have two sets one has stain, the other doesn’t.  which do you like better?

I also painted this cute little frame that I got at the dollar store and roughed it up and stained it and put the pledge of allegiance in it found here and then I copied and pasted it into office word and used the font “Eight Fifteen.”

I used plain white computer paper, super simple and I’m liking it…even more now that I’m  finally finished!
Now that July is almost over…I know, I know!

OH MY GOSH!!!!! Can I just tell you all….
I am in love with the fun 4th of July stuff going on in blogland right now!
I am such a copycat…it isn’t even funny!
LOOK!!!
You see that really cute vase in the middle…yeah, that is what I’m talking about!  I made it…ok, filled it..but cute right!?  It is a really Cute and inexpensive idea for using kidney beans (red) great northern beans (white) and black beans (blue) to make a flag in a glass jar!  Do you just love or what!  I am so excited because it was so easy, cheap, and Cute!  Did I mention that it was cute?  I found this at linky party and I instantly became a follower of her blog because I seriously fell in love with these!    To check out her blog  go to this  link. Makoodle. These are so easy and they look Fantabulous as decor.  Here in Utah we celebrate the 24th also, so this cutie gets to stay up for a while!  YAY!
OK so what you need to make this is:
-Vase,Apothecary Jar,or anything that would be glass and “see through” so you can layers the beans
-kidney beans
-white beans
-black beans
I loved this tall vase!
I used 3/4 cup of each color of bean alternating the red and white.
You only need the black beans for the top.
Now, here’s the thing, as I was filling it I didn’t “shake” the beans to make them even
so it’s kinda uneven…I was ok with that on this one. So if you want the beans to be straight
be sure to shake the jar and look at it from all side to make sure the beans are sitting evenly.
The more I looked at this vase just knowing that it could be all nice and even…Yep…  I HAD to fix it.   I poured all the beans out and sorted them!  and this time I used a 1/2 cup instead of 3/4 c.  So worth it though!  Here’s how it looks now….{SIGH}  I love it even more now!

AND
I have some cute pedestal canisters that I change up for the seasons… I just HAD to do them too.
This is how I made these:Pedestal Canisters
Summer filled Pedestal Canisters

Here’s these cuties!

These sit in my kitchen…I L.O.V.E. it!  Can you tell?
On these jars I used 1/3 cup of each color of bean.
Pretty darn cute…I mean CA-UTE!
