When I think of summertime, one of the things that come to mind is lemonade. The Lemon decor is a trend that definitely screams summer!
I Love summertime! The warm air, suntans, pool time, gardening and just plain being outside!
Another thing I love is lemonade, and I am loving all the lemon decor. I had to add some lemon to my summer decor and I must say, I love how cute this little vignette looks all put together!
I remember going to a friends house, and commenting on how cute all her decor in her home was. She was so cute, in a hushed voice, said,” Thanks, everything in my home is from the DI”. Which is a local thrift store.
I was in complete shock. Her home looked like a model home! Like out of a magazine, model home!
Not even kidding!
I thought to myself, “How in the heck can you do that?”
I have mentioned before that I was a little snobbish about even walking into a thrift store.
Yes, I know, ridiculous, right!?
Now, I seek the thrill of finding, revamping and decorating for next to nothing! I take pride in knowing, I am like this sweet friend, who inspired me to do the same! And give up my snobbish ways!
the wood base
The wood came from a summer camping trip. It was firewood left from the previous campers who occupied the camp spot. There was no way this beauty was going in the fire pit! I had plans for it! I brought it home, cleaned it up and have loved it since last summer!
The farmhouse signs
I bought the furring strips at home depot and cut them down to the size I wanted. I have made these interchangeable, so I cut the MDF wood (center) smaller than the furring strips so that it just slides in, Well, in this case, I decided to try something different, and I think this is the way to go, for these interchangeable signs.
Guys, this is foam poster board from Dollar Tree. I cut some vinyl in THE SKINNY font that resembles Rae Dunn, and slipped it into my perfectly imperfect frames! I love that it looks just as good as using the MDF and it is way cheaper, no painting, sanding, or cutting wood, and you can get lots of uses out of one piece! WIN WIN!
the knomes
This year, I became a knome maker. They are so easy, cute and can be used to add a little somethin’ somethin’ to any decor.
the candy dish and mini glass jar
Now, I am very selective and deliberate when I am thrifting. I don’t buy everything. I have to KNOW that I will use it because do I really want to store a bunch of stuff I might never use? No, I sure don’t!
This dish was too dang cute to pass up. I paid a whopping .75 cents for this. And I LOVE it! I paid the same amount for the glass jar holding the flowers. I have used this multiple times already!
the straws and mason jar
I had the mason jar, the straws came from Dollar Tree. I did also try to make a lemon out of the same fabric that I made the yellow knome hat out of, I’m kind of liking how It turned out!
I arranged it all together and I am loving the look and summer vibe this brought to my home! Let me know what you think! I’d love to hear your thoughts!
