Browned Butter Sugar Cookie Bars take the delicious sugar cookie to the next level. The flavor is so,so good!
I tried browned butter a few years ago for the first time when a sweet friend made some cookies.
Oh my! I forgot how delicious browned butter is!
This perfectly describes how browned butter tastes. The only thing I would add, is it has a somewhat nutty flavor also…
“In its purest form, brown butter tastes like toffee, a little sweet and savory with a heady caramel aroma. Chemically, brown butter tastes so good for the same reason a seared steak does: a process called the Maillard reaction that describes the breakdown of animal proteins into hundreds of flavor compounds.”
Browning the butter gives them a little something that makes a BIG difference. Add a generous layer of vanilla-almond crusting buttercream and sprinkle with a winter mixture of fun sprinkles and ahhh…. pure HEAVEN!
My sweet family L.O.V.E.D them and so naturally… we had to leave some out for Santa!
My little Mr. was so excited to give him these delish cookies! Santa devoured these, sprinkles and all! I took a tray of them to our family Christmas party the next day.
You Guys!
My niece couldn’t get enough! She even made the comment, “These are so much better than Crumbl.”
Sorry, Crumbl…these really are that good!
So, let’s talk about how these are made.
