Have you seen you tubers and their cuteness they come up with using dollar store crafts? If not, you guys are missing out! I’ll admit. I have become a teeny tiny bit obsessed with watching them!
They come up with some dang cute, cheap stuff!

Well, for spring they have been crafting with these cute little orange jute wrapped carrots. They totally scream “FARRRMMMHOUSE” and I had to have some! So, I have stalked….like two to three times a week…..STALKED my local store.
Well, apparently everyone else saw the you tube videos on this cuteness too and they have been doing the same thing.
I finally came to the conclusion, no cute orange jute wrapped carrots for me. But then….I had an A-HA moment!I remembered that I had made some yarn wrapped carrots and material ones, years ago with dollar tree foam and their onion grass floral.
Then I got excited!
I wanted tiny cute ones though, for my Rae Dunn Inspired Easter Tier Tray so, this is what I did!

supplies for the carrots
- Orange Yarn & material
- Hot glue gun
- Old book card stock or paper
- Onion grass
SO….I used an old book and rolled pages into cone shapes and used dabs of hot glue to hold them together. They were hollow so I tore and crumpled up some more book pages and stuffed them inside the carrot. Just enough to keep the carrot firm but not so much to misshapen it. Next I took my yarn and made little knot in the end. I glued that to the tip of the carrot and started wrapping the yarn upwards toward the top. Once I reached to top. I took some of the onion grass and cut it to the length I wanted and then glued it into the top. I finished wrapping the yarn to the top and then…
I had some cute carrots! They are not perfect, and that is what I love!
supplies for burlap bag & sign
- burlap
- peat moss
- empty cereal box
- large flat craft sticks
- wood stain
- vinyl
- jute
- glue gun or wood glue
Then I got the carrots from years ago. I made them a little more farmhouse-y with a little burlap sack. It was just scrap burlap that I had in my stash. I pieced it all together to make a bag. I stuffed extra pieces of the burlap inside so it wasn’t so see through.
Then I took a cereal box and cut a rectangle square out of it, and covered it with big craft sticks, (similar to popsicle sticks) . I cut the curved edges off with scissors and glued them onto the cereal box so it looked like a little sign, stained it, and made two little knots with some jute , glued it to look like it was hanging on the bag. I cut out some vinyl that says “CARROTS .25 ” in the BOSSHOLE font, and stuck it it on!
I got some peat moss, stuffed it into the bag after I put the carrots in….and I smiled, laughed inside a little and loved how it came together! I love the imperfections, and their uniqueness.
