I love a good cake mix, you know, one that you don’t have to do alot of “jazzing” up to…
Well I found a keeper.
This was one of the easiest cakes to make and it seriously looks like a bomb, but tastes the “BOMB!”
The rich Chocolate layers with chunks of dark chocolate were perfect. Truth be told…I am not a dark chocolate fan, but this was really good. Pair it with Raspberry and yummo!
The box mix comes with 2 different mixes. It has the cake batter mix and then a fudge-y chocolate chunk mix. I mixed them up in separate bowls according to the directions. I poured the cake batter into a parchment sheet paper lined 9X13 baking sheet and then added the fudge chocolate by the spoonful to the top and swirled it into the cake batter. Bake it @ 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
Raspberry frosting:
I made a half batch of Vanilla Butter Cream Frosting and added 1/2 of the can of Raspberries to it!
Oh my Yumminess!
You could eat this by the spoonful!
When the cake was done and cooled, I sliced in half vertically AND Horizontally to make for layers. I spread the raspberry butter cream onto each layer and put it in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Then I frosted the entire cake with the raspberry butter cream.
I stuck it back in the fridge for 15 minutes. I pulled it out, cut it added some raspberry to the top, and drizzed it with the chocolate sauce.
(If you want the layers to set up more I suggest leaving it in the fridge for at least another 30 minutes.)
We wanted to eat it like…Yesterday…so it was fine for us!
This would be a perfect addition to your Christmas dinner.
Really, it is that easy and yummy.
Ooh, or what about a girls’ night…picture all of you giggling and digging your forks into the delicious layered cake.
Speaking of Girls’ night…I NEED one of those!
*WINK*
