Getting My Craft On! {part 1}

June 8, 2011

Hi Guys!
How are you all? I have been busy with the Pretty Princess~ We have been working on our Summer Bucket List she is loving it….OK,I am too…taking the time to do things together is so important. I keep telling friends that this is the last year that she is really going to like me, (which I’m hoping isn’t really the case.)
 She will be in Jr. high next year and Young Women’s in January!
Seriously where has the time gone?
Anyway,
yesterday when she was out playing with some friends I decided I needed to get my “craft on” and finish a few things that I have been working on, you know those projects that are half finished or the great ideas swimming around in your head ones…yeah, I decided to do all three of them yesterday!   So, I decided to make this into a three part “Craft On” series!   Okay, the first one is my bottled flowers.
Here’s what ya need to make them:
1.  cleaned root beer bottles
2.  flowers
3.  stolen paint chips
4.  jute
5. Stickers or vinyl
I have seen this kind of thing around blog land, with the bottles painted and vinyl stuck right on the bottle.  I loved that Idea.  But I also love the rustic look of the bottles too.
So instead of painting the bottles {which would be super cute too}  I decided to leave them their original color and put some bright colored flowers that I found at dollar tree in them.
AND…instead of applying vinyl right on the bottle I  got some paint chips,cut a circle using my 2″ craft punch,  found a cute sticker and spelled out the word S.U.M.M.E.R.

Punched a little hole in the top of the paint chip and then to keep with the rustic fun look, I tied it on with some jute!  Love Jute!
All done!  I love how they turned out!  I can change the tags and flowers for the seasons if I want to, you know cause I do that quite a bit…my indecisiveness takes over! {wink}
Another super cute idea is…put some fresh flowers in them from your flower garden or buy some.
.(like I would do)
and tie a cute ribbon on it.  My friend actually brought me some flowers when I was in the hospital like this…LOVED it!  There is just something about flowers…they just bring a smile to your face!
Go, go …. make you some bottled flowers..they will make you smile too!
Have a great day you guys!
